About Us
Hi, my name is Maya Johnson. I’m a senior at Middleton High School and I live in Cross Plains. In mid 2020 my two cousins, Brett (16) and Michael (13), were diagnosed with the most rare and dangerous form of a genetic disorder called Fanconi Anemia. Michael was tested after having had two different leukemias since 2016 and when Fanconi was diagnosed, Brett was also tested. Currently, there are less than 100 diagnosed cases of this type of Fanconi in the world. The only chance of survival and quality of life into and past their 20’s is a bone marrow transplant. I’ve always loved to bake and I want to do my little part so I set up Bread and Butter, a small bakery run out of my home with all profits going to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund. Thank you for your support!
